Scheduled Hours 37.5 Position Summary Under the direction of the Director of Career Services, the manager will oversee the School's Professional Development in-person and virtual programming which offers post-graduate training, newly launched post-masters certificate programs and executive education; This includes managing multiple collaborative partnerships that are responsive to opportunities and the needs of various constituencies. The manager is responsible for leading efforts to grow and sustain program enrollment targets. In collaboration with the Director, the manager will work on the strategic plan to expand current programming nationwide, increase quality and undertake new program models to attract and retain new customer bases. This includes the development of new business plans that identify government and corporate sponsors to increase enrollment and financially subsidize programming. Job Description This position is located in a normal office environment with hybrid flexibility. The nature of the position does require travel to off-campus locations to meet with program stakeholders and partners. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Manages the school's professional development offerings, which includes approximately 150 workshops per year and serves more than 1500 unduplicated individuals. This includes development of program topics, recruitment and retention of program faculty, marketing of the programs, and supervision of staff charged with pre- and post-event administration Maintains compliance with continuing education credit regulations of the States of Missouri and Illinois, AASECT, and other accrediting bodies as needed. Responsible for advancing the School's long range plans to attract and serve new markets. Oversees the strategic growth and implementation of financially successful programs to expand Professional Development to the next phase of development, which includes expansion of the program into multiple markets throughout the US, with a specific focus on locations with high numbers of alumni. Responsible for coordinating all logistics of programming produced off-campus and in other parts of the country. Develops and markets the new post-masters certificate programs Including the design, development, and implementation of an online learning platform for all programs. Additionally, implement the Summer Institute program in partnership with academic program faculty, students and community members. Executes a successful business plan for the financial management of the department, including the development of new & competitive business models and fee structures to secure business and external funding to increase revenue streams for the school through the expansion of current programs that allow for the department to be completely self-sustaining. Personnel management of staff assigned to support the manager. Develops collaborative programming with other units of the school and the university, as well as community partners within the School. Supports faculty and research centers by facilitating online lectures utilizing the Open Classroom system. Increases capacity to support post-masters certificate programs. Provides continuing education units for programming sponsored by other centers and departments within the University. Develops programming consistent with the Brown School mission to health, economic and racial equity. Co-sponsor programming when appropriate with the continuing education arms of other schools within Washington University Community partners. Certifies qualified outside programming for continuing education units. Responds to, and whenever possible, develops customized and/or on-site training to meet needs of agencies within the region. Performs other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean for External Affairs. Preferred Qualifications Three years of prior work experience in educational or training program development desirable in social work or a related field. Grant writing skills, budgeting and financial management, and experience developing business specifications for information technology systems preferred. Demonstrated leadership in strategically seeking out, developing, and maintaining collaborations is desirable. Previous personnel management experience and expertise developing detailed marketing plans are critical. Must have a strong commitment to the Social Work profession, its values and ethics. Must be self-directed and have the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects. Must be a creative problem solver who can manage complex relationships, always valuing customer satisfaction. Must have financial and business development skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and develop partnerships with people from a wide variety of backgrounds. Exceptional writing and editing skills needed. Firm understanding of structural racism and oppression in all its forms. Ability to work in various settings, such as one-on-one meetings, work teams, social settings, and speaking to groups. Ability to work efficiently and creatively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to organize and advance multiple projects, including developing new program structures and policies. Working knowledge of Microsoft office tools. Required Qualifications Master's degree and one year of experience or Bachelor's degree and three years. Degree requirement will be based on state's governing board of continuing education for designated program. Grade G11 Salary Range $49,000.00 - $83,800.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
